I’m Robert Fullum, a music technologist who has spent his life creating both music and music technology.

For the past five years I’ve been a contract audio software engineer developing across their flagship RØDECaster product family, including the RØDECaster Pro II, RØDECaster Duo, Streamer X, Rode Central, and RØDECaster App. The work spans embedded software, standalone applications, GUI development, real-time DSP integration, USB and network device protocols, macOS Core Audio, Over-the-Air firmware delivery, and its cross-platform infrastructure. I’ve shipped from pre-production through public launch and ongoing feature work on products considered industry standards.

Alongside the engineering, music is a mainstay in my life. Through the years my professional musical roles include production, mixing and live sound, and performance. Several of my personal audio technology products have been inspired by my personal experiences and used professionally, including my synthesizer plugin, mid-side sidechain compressor, and Raspberry Pi-based step sequencer synthesizer.

My formal education reflects the breadth of my music and technology interests. After years of bass guitar lessons, I got my Bachelor of Music in Studio Production from SUNY Purchase, Conservatory of Music. After years of in-industry work, I returned to school to get my Master of Science in Sound Design (with Merit) from the University of Edinburgh, Reid School of Music, which refocused my efforts towards the creation of music technology and engineering.

I love music and audio, and I love making the technology that makes music and audio.
